I thought Ms. Butler used a great deal of tact in approaching the topic of black sorority life. Notice how she didn't illustrate the pledging activities, but instead, focused primarily on the relationship of the pledges? I thought that was an intelligent move on her part. No negative reflections on AKA at all. And, she never mentioned any other BGLO. However, I must say that there were a few references to Omega Psi Phi-- was I the only one who caught that? Recognizing that authors write from their own personal experiences, I couldn't help but assume that Tajuana doesn't think too highly of my Coleman brothas. Still, the book was excellent, and I finished it two days.

The next book on your reading list should be "The Divine Nine: The History of African American Fraternities and Sororities" by Lawrence C. Ross.

Many Blessings!
