I actually enjoy wearing weaves/braids. It’s easy and convenient for ME. Where I go to school, people don't do hair as well as I like and pay for. Whenever it is time to get it done over, you better believe I'm flying home to NY.
My real hair is really nice and is just past my shoulders but I'm lazy and I don't like doing my hair ALL the time, so I'm not trying to "grow" anything.
It’s funny because some people I hear saying back at school saying, "Is that a weave/braids? Oh I don't wear that..." are probably the same ones that wish they had the balls or the money to go get one or two weeks later TRYING to emulate what they see.
IMHO think it all boils down to JUST BE YOURSELF! Don't try to be something your not. Yes I will get a weave, wear white AFTER labor day, wear prescribed color contacts (my eyesite is terrible), and will wear boots in the summer (hey I think its a NY thing, lol) and I am as Classy and Sophisticated as they come! There is a time and place for everything and I know when to "switch it up" however, I'm not going to conform and change my personal style for ANYONE!!
How can you be a happy person if your not happy with yourself?
