Having lived in Florida for about a
year and a half now, what I have
discovered is the following...
The farther south you go in Florida,
the farther north you feel. The northern
part of Florida, especially the panhandle
of Florida is very southern like. However,
central and south Florida are not southern at all.
My Grandmother refers to this state as God's
waiting room! She says this because of all the
people who retire here. Especially New Yorkers!
My entire family is from New York so I get a kick
out of how many New Yorkers I have met since
I've been down here in Tampa. It's more like the
New New York, or New York with palm trees.
