When I went to a white school part time last year, what we call a "yard" they called a "quad." However, when I asked this question to some oldheads, they told me that the yard was the school. The dorms, the "yard", the cafe and all of that. I hope that helps.

112, You are correct, sir!
The entire campus was considered the yard. For example, If the Deltas ran the yard, it seemed more fitting to run the entire university, as opposed to a specified area of grass in front of a building!
seems more impactful that way! That's why we included the entire campus in the "yard" category! Hope this helps
