NEW YORK - Rapper Lil' Kim got her bling-bling back. An estimated $250,000 worth of jewelry belonging to the hip-hop performer and producer was recovered Friday at Kennedy International Airport, where it had disappeared one week earlier.
The missing jewelry, including her signature diamond-encrusted "Queen Bee" necklace, was found wrapped inside a rag by a United Airlines worker in a locker room for airline employees, her attorney Mel Sachs said Saturday. Diamond-covered platinum dog tags were also recovered.
The rapper, whose real name is Kimberly Jones, was catching a flight to Los Angeles on June 20 as she headed out for the Black Entertainment Television awards.
She had a carry-on bag containing the jewelry. An error at the airline check-in counter caused the carry-on piece of Louis Vuitton luggage to get mixed in with the rest of the rapper's luggage.
When the bag was recovered, the jewelry was missing, police said.
Pasquale DiFulco, a spokesman for the Port Authority, which operates the airports, said Saturday no arrests were made. The investigation was continuing.
