As a marketing major, I also have noticed a lot of these ads. From my experience, the ones that are listed under "marketing and sales" are generally more sales type positions.
I interviewed with a company that sounded great on paper - the ad made it sound like the perfect first step in the marketing and advertising field. First interview, things still seem cool (or perhaps I was being particularly dense). Went back for a second "working" interview - this turned out to be a day following an "associate" while he went door to door selling coupons. That was the job I applied for - door to door sales. Nothing in the ad indicated this, and even in the initial interview it wasn't mentioned.
Some of those ads will defintely be worth checking out. However, some are completely misleading, and if it's one that you see often, be a bit wary!!!

This sounds very similar. I am supposed to go for an all day interview tomorrow (9-6) so they can get to know my work ethic, professionalism, etc. Then the third part of the interview process is to follow someone so that we can see what exactly the job entails. The selling job then leads to an account management job, where you manage about ten people.
It really doesn't sound appealing. They said they would call me between 3:30 and 4:30 to tell me if I made it to the next round. Indeed they called and I made it, but I have a feeling that everyone who interviewed made it.
