I am not a member of AKA but I am in the same situation as you. I am interested in AKA but my campus,in NJ, doesn't have an active chapter. I have made some progress since my first "Greekchat" post
and thought that I may be able to at least get you up to the point I have reached. What school do you go to? Who knows, maybe we are on the same campus???
BTW: If you do a search in the AKA Forum with New Jersey/NJ in the subject or message you should be able to get some info.
