When I was a child, my mother was strict, very strict. At the time I resented it. Now I understand why and appreciate it.
I completely agree! My parents made it very clear to me that actions have consequences, and if me (or any of my siblings) did something silly enough to get in trouble with the school or (god forbid!) the law, you can bet your life I would be sitting in detention or in a cell somewhere! I hated the way my parents were strict when I was younger, and now that I understand why, it's hard to explain to my teenage sister in high school who's going through the same thing (disliking the strictness). She just doesn't buy the "they-do-it-because-they-love-you" line.

Seriously though, I hope this is a lesson they learn...(which I personally think everyone should learn eventually).. although they probably won't learn anything if mommy & daddy come to their rescue even if they were beating the crap out of other girls.
