I don't have any great advice 'cus we have winter rush...
Strapless would probably not be perceived really well at my school, except for pref night. If you had a tasteful pref night dress I think it would be ok. Too, in the summer wearing a strapless dress is more natural. Fewer winter styles are strapless.
