I think it depends on your definition of pretty and what you think defines beauty. Is it simply based on a person's physicial attributes or appearance, does it also include how beautiful a person is on the inside, is it only attitude, or is it about the overall description of the person?

Alpha Kappa Alpha women come in all heights, sizes, skin tones, have various talents, personalities, etc. Therefore, the stereotypes in all honesty don't exist. In my opinion, the diversity they bring to the organzation is in itself beautiful. Not all of my sorors will measure up on someone's individual scale, but that is not to say they are not pretty in our eyes.

When selecting members, we strive for quality. Every organization only wants to select the best candidates, and we are no different. We want sorors to be well-rounded, intellectual, show leadership potential, and the list goes on and on. To us, that is what being a "pretty girl" is all about.
