jeans that are sold with holes already in them. I'm sorry abercrombie but you will not catch me paying that much money for jeans that have holes all over them.

i'm not a big fan of the pointy toe shoes either.

Feel welcome to disagree with me, and if any of this offends anyone sorry; but these are my personal opinions. Likely something I do would give you the vapors.

* People with nasty, crusty, cheddar log feet and toes in flip flops, IN THE WINTER.

* Obnoxious cell phone ring tones, and lights. It is not needed to make the phone operate. Also people who walk around talking on their cellphones having inane conversations; they don't look cool they look stupid and self absorbed.

* Blaring the bass of one's car so loud it makes the inside of my house shake. All the ridiculous lights and nonsense on vehicles. Lowering a Ford Escort and putting tiny wide wheels on it is NOT going to get you laid buddy, and neither are the blue chasing lights and the neon underneath. Furthermore cruising the strip in Anchorage is one of the most pathetic acts one can do.

* Having any sort of undergarments show out the back of one's pants. Men and women for that matter. I don't want to see boxers, thongs, g-strings OR granny panties. This goes double for people under the age of 18. I saw some chick's ass crack at the admit the other day, YUCK.

* Abercrombie and Fitch and all of the similar retailers. The clothes are low quality, they aren't that great, AND people pay an obscene amount of money to advertise for them. Sheep.

* People wearing pyjama pants everywhere. Almost allowable when going to class before noon, but never okay for going to the movies, riding on an airplane, or to jury duty. Take 30 seconds and at least put on some jeans.

* Saying things are ghetto...when one is from a wealthy mostly white suburb and the most "ghetto" they have experienced is listening to Tupac or seeing the projects from the freeway in mommy's SUV on the way to soccer.

* Scooters in general, and worse...motorized scooters. Lazy and dorky.

* Stupid cyber and "leet" speak. U r not kewl. Proper english is not an elitist language...use it.

I feel better now...

First, Giltter and Animal Prints are cool... heh

What I hate:

-The sudden fake outburst of American pride with people putting the flag everywhere, yet pre 9-11 they didnt even know what the flag looked like.

-The bohemian look. Why? Yea Ive worn this crap for years cos my parents were hippies... so?

-People who take the thrift store look to the extreme... OR those who buy it at A&F.

-Girls who must look PUT TOGETHER 24hrs a day 7 days a week. We have one sorority on campus who their members could be dying of SARS but they would STILL get all made up to go to the health center (Clarionites know who I mean)

-SKANKY TEENAGERS

-SKANKY TEENAGERS

-SKANKY TEENAGERS!!!

-People who get a LJ cos they think its cool and then dont use it.

-PEOPLE WHO JOIN A SORORITY AND ONLY WEAR LETTERS AND OTHERWISE ARE LAZY AND DO NOTHING!!!!

-A&F

-Stores that sell skanky clothes

-Trendy People

-CLICKY SHOES. Boots are not supposed to click.

-People who are afraid of getting their shoes dirty. Theyre shoes. Get over it.

My least fav trend:
People who bash GLOs and know nothing about them

* People with nasty, crusty, cheddar log feet and toes in flip flops, IN THE WINTER. You know a girl's feet are f*cked up when she'll walk around your house butt ass naked.....in socks

* Obnoxious cell phone ring tones, and lights. It is not needed to make the phone operate. Also people who walk around talking on their cellphones having inane conversations; they don't look cool they look stupid and self absorbed. I myself realized that having a song as my ringtone was just grabbed way too much tention, so it's a simple ring now. Good point.

Furthermore cruising the strip in Anchorage is one of the most pathetic acts one can do.What's worse is that, ok, maybe those things are cool to drive and race LEGALLY when you're like 22, but how is it gonna feel when you're 35, you're still at the same entry level job, and you have no money saved up cause you blew it on your rice rocket (and don't say that doesn't happen cause it does). Be thankful you don't live in San Diego, the "Fast and The Furious" capital of the world.

* Having any sort of undergarments show out the back of one's pants. Men and women for that matter. I don't want to see boxers, thongs, g-strings OR granny panties. This goes double for people under the age of 18. I saw some chick's ass crack at the admit the other day, YUCK. Sorry, gotta disagree wit you on that one. I've just kinda acccepted sagging, as long as it isn't taken too far. If people can basically see both of youre entire asscheeks (as in seeing their boxers), then that's way too far.

* Abercrombie and Fitch and all of the similar retailers. The clothes are low quality, they aren't that great, AND people pay an obscene amount of money to advertise for them. Sheep.Nobody realizes how cheaply made a lot of those clothes are, you're right. A&F are now even just f*cking up your clothes for you. Those hats with the ripped brim aren't cool guys.

* People wearing pyjama pants everywhere. Almost allowable when going to class before noon, but never okay for going to the movies, riding on an airplane, or to jury duty. Take 30 seconds and at least put on some jeans. Agreed.

* Saying things are ghetto...when one is from a wealthy mostly white suburb and the most "ghetto" they have experienced is listening to Tupac or seeing the projects from the freeway in mommy's SUV on the way to soccer. Read my post from before. I agree fully, except that soccer thing. Soccer isn't just a suburban sport you know. Half the kids I played with were extremely lower middle class to barely above the poverty line, and I also played with them in Tiajuana

* Scooters in general, and worse...motorized scooters. Lazy and dorky. They're "out of style" here

* Stupid cyber and "leet" speak. U r not kewl. Proper english is not an elitist language...use it.THANK GOD someone brought this up. I just have something to say: If you use the word "lamer" in a sentence, you're a chat dork, and that's not even a real word.

I feel better now...

I am posting to the person who started this thread..i don't consider walkmen and discmen a fad because a lot of us have a long walk to class and it gets boring you know 730 in the morning with a twenty minute walk.

The trends that i hated were:

smiley face clothes-they did it in my town when I was in middle school

black jeans (not black dress pants) because they would get faded and just look ugly

I really don't dig on those bowling shoes people are wearing now either ( so sorry if you like em)

GUILTY!!

AngelPhiSig, It seems like you hate trends period, not just picking out the ones you dislike.

I just want to get out of my chair and scream I Love ABERCROMBIE!
... but i may be shot... cause this is so ghetto.

Not to be totally rude but... I get so annoyed when people make comments about certain store, particularly A&F and how people who shop there are mindless zombies with dady's credit card. If I were to go out and bash people who shop at thrift stores, I'd immediately be attacked for discrimination and being judgemental. hello?? I shop at both stores.

I'm not embarassed at all to say I like a good many of the 'horrid' trends listed. and if you look back, gorgeous and confident women can look amazing in any of the rediculous trends over the years... yes, even ugly 80's clothes. the people who are going to look bad 20 years from now already look bad today. If you know how to put yourself together, in most cases the look will be timeless.

That said, I would like to mention that I consider myself to be unique in my style, and not because i refuse to shop at major chain stores, but because if the way i put my outfits together in ways that are unexpected yet appealing. Ive been complimented often on my sense of style, and i do take pride in it.

The metal slinky-type belts. Ladies, many of us over-30s made this fashion mistake once in our youth. Please learn from us and don't do it again.

Overly cutesy sweatshirts (the cartoon kitties, things like that) worn in public. Especially on (ahem) zaftig women. Please, please, have some dignity. Shop in the men's section if you must.

Burberry matching plaid bag and shoes. I used to love that pattern, but it is sooooooo played around here.

***edited to add in response to Meliss's post, I always get amused when people condemn "ugly 80's clothes" when what they are wearing is a redo of...ugly 70's clothes. FYI, most people did not go to school/work looking like Cyndi Lauper...the prevalent 80's style was more preppie than anything else.

That's why I don't own a pair of pointy-toe shoes - they look like they would jack a sistah's foot up real quick.

I had feathered hair. It was cute at the time.

thug wear? please define. it's better than when white boys used to wear tight a* khakis with their sweater tied across their chest(i do it sometimes but guys. ..it looks gay). i agree that some people take it to extreme but baggy pants are cute on a guy if he wears them right.

i let my toes show at any event as long as i got a pedicure the day or week before. if you ever come here for derby adn see pamela anderson's toe nails, you'd see why long pedicured toes are sexy. she makes sandals look good.

i love a guy with short shaved head. bald with 666 on the back. . .i'd worry. but some guys look good. . .for example, brad pitt in fight club. he looks 'where are my handcuffs?' sexy.

Oh dayum... there is something about guys in Tommy baggy jeans. Not like "I raise my arms and there my pants go" baggy, but baggy enough so that we have to see "the bulge".

how about the guys that wear pants with one leg rolled up?

girls that wear clothes that are WAY too small....girls can look so beautiful in clothes if its the right size

12 years old (or anyone under the age 16 for that matter) and g strings, thongs, tube tops, shirts that say 'sexy',...among many others.. it is just sick. and what is their excuse? 'its my body'.. uh newsflash, no it is not.

nails that are so freakin long that they curl...yuck!
