I HATED hostessing. First there were the old people and regulars who basically marched in the door and informed you where they were going to sit. Then there were the people who would actually walk up to you at 8 pm in the middle of Friday rush with an hour wait and ask for a table that was "quiet." I had to resist the urge to say "Okay, how about your house!"
Next you have the servers who are always mad at you for either filling their sections too quickly or not quickly enough.
Finally, you have the fact that you're making just over minimum wage to put up with all of this crap.
I actually really enjoyed waiting tables.
