But baby, thats only one kind of cowboy look. And the shirts withthe snaps, please, thats Madonna Western, or my grandfather.

Theres about 500 different ways to dress "regional" down here in the south or 'country'. I have been at parties where a guy was in 501's, a wife beater and had a cowboy hat on, that was considered Country. Or tight Wranglers and a starched shirt. Or theres a pair of 20X jeans or Cinch with a knit pullover polo, and thats 'cowboy'. Finally, most all guys down here aged 20-40 get their khakis laundered at the dry cleaners and ask for extra heavy starch, along with any buttondown shirt with heavy starch also is considered "cowboy" (Of course the common factor is some type of boot). I was at a party a few months back, wearing a pair of heavily starched Bannana Republic Hacking Chinos (khaki color) and a buttondown polo, with heavy starch, a belt from Bannana and my redwings and most would have considered I was dressed, "country". I didnt have a hat on tho. My brother Ryan always wears one of those Madonna western shirts withthe snaps and his abercrombie shorts. Its a very popular look here. I wouldnt consider it "cowboy" at all. Sometimes I'll put on the wranger shirt unbottoned over a teeshirt and 501's, because the shirt is warm as hell. People wouldnt hink I was country. Damn near half my undergraduate chapter has carhart jackets. Many would consider them "country" jackets, but when you see whos wearing them and how, you wouldnt call them country. Its a very subjective thing, with many different styles and looks.
