Too many parents today either let their kids run wild with no discipline at all, or have them on such a short leash and in so many programmed activities the kid never gets to test his wings. Either way, once the kid gets to college, he goes nuts.
How can people understand what "brotherhood" is if all their friendships are based on partying, or if all their friendships have been orchestrated and approved by their parents?
Yes, once you are 18 you should grow up, but expecting a kid who hasn't been effectively parented to do that overnight is like asking a 7th grade biology student to do brain surgery.
