This is actually a real concern. It is such a big one for our house corp that when we build our house they do not plan to use flammable materials. The benefit of this was realized at our OU (Delta Epsilon) chapter. A couple of years ago they had a very bad fire in one of the rooms. The room was completely gutted, everything in it destroyed.

Because they used non-flammable materials in the construction of their house though adjacent rooms were unharmed (with the exception of smoke damage in the hallway. The rest of the house is the same way though. There is very little fuel for fires in the place. This probably helps them a lot with insurance, etc.
