...Theta Phi Alpha was essentially founded by a Catholic priest! The Alpha chapter of Theta Phi is at the University of Michigan and the priest (Father Brown?) wanted Catholic girls to have an organization where they could feel at home since there was prejudice against Catholics at that time. The Theta Phi motto is one of my faves: "Nothing great is ever achieved without much enduring" and it is attributed to St Catherine of Siena...
