Ohhh! I'm so excited! We handed out bids today too for our informal rush!! I'm getting ready to go off for bid day activities right now as a matter of fact!! Best of luck and let us know what happens...good or bad!! Can't wait to hear!

Good Luck!! I know we've been handing out bids to women all week. So far we have 8 wonderful new members (3 of which are legacies and biological sisters!!). Its so much fun being V.P. Membership when you get to see the faces of the women!

i didnt get it. my grades ruined it for me. i thought i pulled them up high enough. but i guess i didn't. i have already attempted delta gamma twice. do i really want to go through again? i know i can wait until fall and participate in formal rush. but the thought is depressing me right now. the is this unexplained numbness going through me right now. it feels awful.

I'm sorry to hear that it didn't work out. Each school sets GPA standards and there is a national standard. The selection process is very stressful (from both sides). Keep working hard on those grades and you can always try again...just like you said...To tell you the truth if someone couldn't make it because of grades and worked real hard and showed up again, the determination and dedication would impress me very much! That alone would almost do it for me...so don't give up. You seem like an amazing woman...please don't be down for long.

Aww smiley, I'm so sorry. I also thought people checked grades before you went through rush, but I guess it's just different at your school.
As to whether you should go through it again, only you can answer that. If you truly feel a connection with Delta Gamma, I'd say go for it. However, if you think the process is just too emotionally difficult, then maybe not. Does DG at your school do COB (continuous open bidding)? Maybe you can try to join that way rather than through formal rush.
I hope you find a home in a sorority somewhere. Best of luck to you, and please keep us posted on what you decide. *hugs*

Smiley a similar situation happened to me Freshemen year. I was never told of the grade requirements until the VP of Panhel called me to tell me there were no Pref. invites for me because of that. I eventually found my home tho the following semester! Best of luck to you!
