Well, for a while I have noticed that my African American students are the most disruptive. But, that's not really true. They are just more verbal. I teach in LA County and the statistics at his school are not the same as mine. I have found that student success is based on expectations. If you expect your students to work hard and learn, for the most part they will. If you expect the very best of them behavior wise and follow up with it, they will behave. I have noticed that many teachers fell this way when they have low expectaions for their studnts. If you don't believe in them, why should they believe in themselves?
