Whitney Houston Describes the Highs and Lows of Her Career

Nov. 28 — Whitney Houston has a voice that has been called the greatest of her generation, and she has topped the music charts around the world and starred in movies. But for the last decade, her life has been plagued by scandal and mystery, with rumors of bizarre behavior and unexplained cancellations.

But one date she did keep was for an exclusive interview with Primetime's Diane Sawyer, her first sit-down interview in years.
In the interview, which will air on a special Primetime on Wednesday, Dec. 4, Sawyer asked Houston, 39, about her weight, telling her that Americans watching the interview would probably be scrutinizing her physical appearance for signs of illness or substance abuse. In a guest appearance on Michael Jackson's televised concert in February, Houston appeared thin and frail, giving rise to rumors that she was sick. There have also been rumors of drug use.

When Sawyer showed the singer a picture taken during the Michael Jackson concert, she admitted you could see her bones, but said, "I'm 5'7" and thin."

Sawyer also asked Houston about rumors of her substance abuse, and her turbulent marriage to singer Bobby Brown. The two talked about the highlights of her career — Houston said the high point was when she sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl in 1991 — and the low points, like the $100 million lawsuit filed against her in September by her 81-year-old father's entertainment company.

But asked if she was tough enough for show business, Houston was sure: "Oh, I'm tough enough," she said.

This should be really interesting. In all seriousness I feel sorry for her and most especially the Bobbi Christina.
