Guys of GC I need to pick your brain
So I was at a Halloween party and I met someone through a friend-very cute and nice according to my friends. We started talking-he went to A&M also, graduated few years after me (he is 27 and I am 30)-so far so good. Then we start talking about careers. I told him I was a veterinarian then he proceeds to tell me he really doesn't like animals, I was like OK . Then he says well I think dogs are ok and thought about getting one but my friend has a dog and when he brings it over it messes up the house-blah blah blah. Then he says I don't like cats, afterall what are cats good for? I looked at him and said I have 5 cats-by this time I was looking for away out of the conversation and basically away from him. I cannot relate to someone who does not like animals. So I get up and ask my friends if they needed another drink (b/c boy I sure did!) and I abruptly left. Last night my friend called-she had introduced us at the party, and said he wanted my number-WTF???? Why would he want my number? I have 5 cats and obviously love animals-how could we possibly get along? I need a guys perspective on this-maybe I am just thinking about this-being a woman I guess you sould say.

It depends on how much he hates cats and what you want to get out of the relationship. If he just thinks they're useless you can make a convert out of him... Besides how are dogs more useful exactly? They bring you the paper?
I'm assuming you're looking for more serious stuff because of the age you gave.. So it probably wouldn't work out. But you never know based on the info you have.

If he hates animals so much its either he is hopeing for sex in the future or hopeing you will ditch the pets for him.

Re: Guys of GC I need to pick your brain
He hasn't put as much thought into it as you. You are thinking about where the relationship will go and how it could mature if he won't enjoy a part of your life that you hold dear. He is thinking "duh, i like her." It's that simple.

I think either he doesn't really care one way or the other about animals and he was just trying to get a reaction OR he wants to hook up.

It is nice to get a guys perspective so thanks to those that replied. I admit I probably do think about it too much but I guess I feel like I will be wasting my time-maybe not? I definitely am not going to ditch the cats or any other animal for that matter-hello this is my livelyhood/passion-I would hope he would be more intelligent than that. Worse comes to worse at least it is a free meal and drinks .
