If anything, IFC/NPC groups are held to a much higher standard of behavior in regards to the new member education process, at my school at least.

Walking "on-line", dressing alike (down to hairstyles), and being forbidden to speak to others are all things practiced rather publicly by NPHC and Latino/a fraternities and sororities, but when the most minor thing practiced by an IFC/local/NPC group is exposed by our (very liberal, anti-residential Greek) media, expect all hell to break loose.
