I know I have seen this thread before today. Was it posted somewhere else? I am positive that it was cleared up elsewhere, but I'll clear it up here too.
Colonies are part of Panhell. It's all legal. Colonies are watched like hawks and are run by very well trained consultants until they can do it on their own, hopefully with a CCD, and the assistance of the RCC. They also require the support and assistance of other Greek orgs to help them going...that's what Panhell is all about. Delta Zeta isn't about to put up TONS of money to begin a colony at some campus without making sure it's all done the right way. I don't think any of us could fathom the cost of starting a colony, room and board and incidentals for the consultant, gear for the new members, shirts, buttons, new member pins, room rentals, recruitment parties, lunches etc.... Why would we waste our time trying to bend the rules and worm our way into a campus with a Panhell that didn't want us?
We wouldn't.
I guess if you are stil upset about this, you could go the head of Student Affairs, or Residence life, or some other figurehead at your campus that could find out if something really "went down" if your Greek Advisor isn't someone you can talk to about this. But, chances are, if you schedule a meeting with the Greek Advisor, this person would be able to clear this all up for you.
