Judging from other posts you've made recently, I take it that you're referring to the new Delta Zeta colony at Hartford.

If memory serves, the only thing that a new colony isn't allowed to participate in is the first formal NPC rush. Colonies hold their own type of rush because there's no way that they could compete with established chapters during the formal rush process.

Since the girls have gained colony status, that means that they have already been approved by the school and Panhellenic -- and have the right to exist on campus. That means that they can take part in Greek events.

I think it's nice that they were able to attend Panhellenic Bid Day. It was a new experience for them, and I'm sure that they were able to learn from it. I think it's important to keep in mind that the success of a colony depends largely on the support it gets, not only from National HQ, but also from established Panhellenic groups on campus. I would hope that Phi Mu and the other GLO's at Hartford would be glad to see a new group on campus and help them in any way possible.

There may be more to this story but I can only speak on the examples you've given on GC. From reading those, it doesn't sound like your greek advisor has done anything out of line or given special treatment to the colony. However, if you have questions, then perhaps you could set up a meeting with the advisor and discuss your concerns one on one.
