Three women...two roses
Drat and double drat. I was as surprised as anyone when A-rod dumped Gwen. Certainly I expected her in the top two at least, if not the winner. Theories abound. My confidence in my ability to pick this is shot. Bookies around the world are tearing up the betting slips in disgust (yes, there are odds on this thing: Helene was the long shot at about 12:1 while Gwen was the hands-on fav with Brooke being about 2:1).
I do feel that ol' blue eyes was ready to kiss the jailbird's daughter good-bye before their last date. Something changed. My logic says that he really likes, and has always liked Helene. I think he was very attracted to Gwen and feels the heartstrings tug (like when you see a puppy) with Brooke. In the end, it was easier to let Gwen go--he knew she would handle it rather well. I agree with the other poster that it makes his decision easier for the next episode. He claims Gwen didn't "seem as into it as the others." Hogwash. Much as I like Helene, no one could look at her and think she's as into the "kiss A-rod's butt" factor as the other two. Therefore, I would logically hypothesize that he will ultimately select Helene. However, logic is apparently not a requirement to view this contest, and some creative editing goes a long way, so who knows? Sweet ol' Brooke's charm and apparent neediness may be the winner here.
Funniest moment: A-rod: "ummmm, can I have five minutes alone with each girl" Chris, our intrepid host..."ummmmmm, you mean like "tonight?" Real brainiacs these two. LOL. Classic.
