One word: SARCASM. Did you bother to read the description of the "Humor" magazine. Guess not. As a victim of both hazing and sexual assault, I hope to God your daughter is getting help for whatever problems she has. Whether or not they are directly related to a sorority, I don't know.

You're right. All incidents of hazing should be taken very seriously. Your cause has grown.

Personally, I feel that I am a stong enough woman to recognize hazing when I see it, and I might think to myself, "Hmm, since I'm no dummy, I may want to DISAFFILIATE myself from these girls."

Also, squirrel hazing is serious, indeed. There were so many squirrels on my last campus that my sisters and I suspected they were trying to take over the city - a conspiracy theory, if you will.

Of course my daughter is getting help for the hazing and rape caused by the sorority. The problem is that the ones who perpitrated it are not-so they are society's problem and waiting for another chance to expoit someone else, in some way. When and if the school does any disciplinary action, maybe some parents will see the need to get them help. I wish they would require counciling for them to stay in school, there. We will just have to wait and see. But, yes, I did see that it was a humor page and my daughter found it to show me. You can't cry all the time, you know, you have to laugh to keep from breaking.

Rumor on OU's campus has it that our squirel population accounted for all the lost/missing National Merits Scholars that just vanished or were not heard from again soon after their freshman or sophomore year. Equeen has more details on it...

Mind you it was just rumored...

Cool

Squirrel hazing is not confined to college campuses either. I live in "an affluent" community in Michigan (not that I am affluent, I live on the border to the ghetto) where this problem is rampant. They have been hazed in front of me many times and until reading the website, I did not know how to help. Thanks to this board my friends and I are starting to bring awareness to the issue and start a support group for the squirrels.

Hi Artimis,

I assume you're talking about the OU down in Oklahoma -- not the original one in Ohio (1804). We were always very nice to small animals there.

Some of the big animals -- like the Phi Delts -- were another story. Just kidding.

Fraternally,
DeltAlum
