I have so many favorites that it's so hard to choose. I love SAE's Paddy Murphy and Sigma Chi's Italian Wedding. Those are some great date functions. My favorite social is called Marriage/Divorce. We use to have this one back in the days when the sororities were still allowed to drink at the fraternity houses. All the girls and guys wore these string necklaces with a paper ring attached to it that had their name. You go around meeting all the girls/guys. Then, you get married to them. You trade rings and then take a shot. Once you get sick of them, you get a divorce and trade back the rings. Take another shot. It was a great way to meet people.

My favorite mixer, personally I LOVE Grafitti mixers because the next morning I like to see what people wrote, but another one we had that was real fun was "Pimps/Hos". I just got social chair next semester and I want to do a really good job, so I will be looking forward to checkingout your ideas.

I wanted to share a cheesy theme that we had in our chapter. We had a Chi-O-T Ugly mixer. I thought that was stretching it.

My favorite mixer we had during my pledge period was a shaving cream fight with Delta Chi. We all got really messy and made lots of friends.

The biggest/most important date party we have is called Indian. It is actually the oldest date party on the campus of Miami University, founded in 1949, so that is another reason it is so important to us.
It is a week long event. Throughout the week we have grab-a-dates or do something with a sorority. Then on Saturday night we have our date party at the house, which has a 3-story teepee in front of it. Take a look at a picture of it at the link below, it takes FOREVER to get up, but it's worth it!

Yes, it's a good time. Although the teepee is folded up and kept in our laundry room the entire year, so you can imagine the stale smell it has when it is unfolded You can seriously smell it from down the street, but oh well...

Around Valentines Day last year, we had an exchange with a fraternity. At first, we each had a piece of a heart and we had to find the other half. Then, we were handcuffed to the guy with the other piece of the heart while we made Valentines for Children's Hospital. After that, we just had a social mixer. Great fun.

Date Dash Scavenger Hunt! We had 2 hours to get 5 guys from a frat and follow the scavenger hunt. The worst(funniest) part was the frat my car had, they had a meeting and couldnt leave! So we had to scrounge up various guys from 2 other frats to come with us. It was so much fun, but we were last! owell!!

My fave is always the '70s mixer we have every year. I am a huge disco fan, and it's so fun to see the outfits that people bust out with. And going shopping with your sisters at the thrift store is a huge bonding experience. This year we had our '70's mixer with some of the BGLOs on campus, and it was the best mixer we ever had! They all do synchronized dances and were teaching all the rhythmically impaired white kids. It was a blast!

Another one I heard about that would work for a fraternity house party is "Anything But A Cup." You have to bring something to the party to drink out of that's not a cup.

By far, the best mixers we had were "anything for money" mixers. Yeah, they get out of hand, but I've won two so I can tell you they are fun!
Also, we do the marriage mixer too...guys bring a tie or girls bring an earring, and then when the other group arrives, they pick a tie or an earring and then that's their wife/husband. There are a lot of rules with regards to separation and divorce and remarrying...but it's tons of fun!

Hi everyone, i think the best social that we have ever had was the REVERSE pimps and hoes social. All the girls dressed like pimps and all the guys dressed like hoes!!! I have never laughed so hard when i saw all the Delt Sigs walk up in mini skirts, halter tops and make-up. I was very suprised to see that everyone really got into the social. Very Very Very fun!!!! I definately recomend it!!!

My favorite was easily the Halloween masquerade we threw. I couldn't even really tell which brother was which, and it was even harder to tell with the women. But, i gotta say, some freaky stuff went on, nothing approaching eyes wide shut, but its real easy to get touchy with someone when you both have no clue who each other is, even easier when you might never find out who it is.

i like the crush parties too but another good event was the snowball war event. It was pretty much the fraternity vs. a sorority, it was a different one every year, and right there one campus was an hour long all out snowball assault. When you're hit 5 times you're out and the last person standing wins it for either the fraternity or sorority. The loser gets to choose the prize, and all members of the losing team have to agree. We had some pretty twisted stuff requested, nothing outlandish, but some brothers were embarrassed beyond recognition. Ever clean a kitchen floor with a toothbrush before? Nahh, didn't think so...Definetly a fun time though, and major relationship buliding between chapters.
