The older I get (not that I'm very old, but...), the simpler my beauty routine becomes. I wash my face with either a bar of Dove or Olay, or St. Ive's Clear pore cleanser with tea tree oil.

Although my hair is chemically relaxed, I usually just wash it and wear it as a curly fro. I've only worn it straight three times this summer. Actually growing the relaxer out.

As far as make-up goes, I usually go with a natural lipstick and concealer for dark circles, then i'm out the door (every so often I'll wear a brighter lipstick).

I've found that the best moisturizer for my skin (extremely dry in the winter) is Safflower oil, found in the cooking oil section of your local grocery store. Its lighter than baby oil, so it absorbs into the skin better. I spray it or rub it on when my skin is still damp. Its great.

I really love Aveda and Kiehl's products. In the mornings, I use Clearasil Stay Clear to keep my skin clear of breakouts. But, at night I use Aveda cleanser and oil-free moisturizer. I also use their eye cream.

My biggest beauty rule is Moisturizing. I have combination skin that is oily in the T-zone. I live and die by oil free moisturizer.

ambi

Ambi is best for me when I'm under pressure. If I don't use it I will get one bump whether it's here or there and one side of my face will get dark. But with ambi I can go through depression, worry, or stress and it won't show a bit. I'll still have that glow.

Skin Care

I'm all about the Clinique 3-Step Skin Care: Type 2!!!
About every other day, I use the 7-Day Scrub, and once a week, I do the Deep Cleansing Emergency Mask- both Clinique. I use MAC and Clinique make-up and I have used some Lancome products as well.

Just take that make-up off every night and visit a dermatologist if you notice any changes in the way your skin behaves!!

Exquisit,

Where can a sistah purchase Hidden Beauty? I have never heard of that before?

Here is my regime:

Since I WILL NOT step outside my door without make-up, I have tried a few different lines and here is what I like:

I currently use Lancome make-up, although I noticed on their website that they are discontinuing their darker shades ( BOOOO LOOOSEEEEEERRRR!!!), so I pray that they will introduce some new ones because so far this is my favorite.

Clinique has the best mascara, if you want fuller, thicker, longer lashes. Its called Dramatic.

MAC's lip gloss is the best one that I have found so far. I have tried Mary Kay's, Lancome, Estee Lauder, etc. and they just don't stay on. You have to reapply the color in 15 minutes. With Mac, once its on their, it doesn't fade away for a long time.

For me, my skincare routine is as follows. I too have combination skin with the occasional pimple.

A.M. - Wash my face with soap (Oil of Olay is my favorite soap for the body, face, etc.) then I use Neutrogena's Pore Refining Toner and Moisturizer.

P.M. - Wash face again with soap and the Oil of Olay daily facial cloths. use toner again and instead of moisturizer, I use Retin-A Micro (a perscription cream for acne and to even out my skin tone).

Since I have been using Retin-A micro, my skin looks 10 times brighter than before and more smooth.

Yeah, a fellow St. Ive's user. Don't you love the way tea tree oil smells? I like the way it works on my face.

Oh yes. It smells so clean and refreshing. Plus it leaves my skin feeling all tingly . It would be wonderful if they had a moisturizer to go along with it.

Well we all should know that true beauty starts from within, but on the outter parts I use Basis glycerin bar with multi vitamin formula. On a day when I am in a hurry I will use just plain luke warm water. Also, water and a WELL balanced meal helps too.

St. Ives does make moisturizers, but I don't think any of them contain tea tree oil. That reminds me, I have to restock on my cleansers today.

You can get it at any fashion fair counter. It's $25 and will last about 3 or 4 months. A little goes a long way. It works wonders.
