Looking back on rush I am filled with many pleasant memories. It was really hard for me to pick just one so I also chose two.

My first one actually happened before rush began. During finals first semester I still hadn't decided whether or not to rush. I had visited one sorority house with a friend but I was not received there very well. While going to eat with my friend who lived there the other girls stared me down and gave me nasty looks. That was enough to make me want to run from the experience! However, during this week of finals I had to take a home test to the office of my pref. It was pouring down rain by the time I was getting ready to return to my room. A girl was directly behind me getting ready to leave to as well so I opened the door for her. By chance she said something about not wanting to walk to her house in the rain. I asked her which one, and it turns out it was a house I was interested in joining. I told her so, and she invited me back. (Of course I was wary since my first sorority visit didn't go well.) But the girls I met that were so warm and genuinely glad to meet me! From that moment on I decided to rush, and now I'm a proud member of this house. Oh, and this girl I ran into is now my Big Sis.

My second fond memory is probably Bid Day. After receiving my bid I was a little scared and apprehensive, especially since all of my friends joined other houses. I really felt alone as I walked to my new house! However, when I got there and saw all of my new excited sisters these fears melted away. I was accepted for who I was, and for the first time I felt what sisterhood is like. I'm an only child so it was a great feeling! The rest of the day was one of the best days of my life, and I owe it all to my wonderful sisters.
