Are you going through a New Member program at all? Since I've been a member for about 3 hours I don't really know anything about alumni initiation, but I think it's awesome that you're doing it! The whole reason I rushed Gamma Phi was that they are the only national on my campus and I wanted the alumni connection too!

It's me again! Houston Chica will be here in Peachtree City for training tomorrow -- it is a time compressed program with an open book quiz at the end...I will finally meet her in person -- we have toatlly connected on GC and talking on the phone -- it is written in the stars that Gamma Phi is for her!! And you!!

I had a very nice training session today with my pledge sister, her sponsor, and GPhiBLtColonel, my Big Sister! We learned about the history and meaning behind Gamma Phi Beta and got to order our badges!! My Big Sis shared Southern Crescent's award-winning scrapbook

with us. It is awesome! I can't wait for Initiation. I love my sorority!!!

Both my pledge sister and myself ordered the same badge. It's the two-tone (gold & silver) one.

Oooh that badge is cute! I can't wait til I get to order mine...I showed my mom a copy of the Crescent today and made her read the article on alumni initiation!

Also, there was an article about the Atlanta Alumnae chapter that sounded like y'all were doing great things down there! Congrats!

...alumnae chapters in the Atlanta area -- YAY! The atlanta group has been around for at least a decade, while I started our little alum chapter in the "southern crescent" area of Atlanta -- it really is called that -- it encompasses five counties south of metro Atlanta. We were officially installed on 8 june 2000 and are just a little over two years old...our name is the Atlanta Southern Crescent Alumnae Chapter -- my picture is actually in the latest Crescent (Summer 2002) on page 10. I am in the white sweatshirt in the upper left corner picture...we are a small chapter but we have LOTS of fun!!! We even won two honorable mentions at Convention!!! Pretty good for a baby Alum Chapter!!

We LOVE our alum initiates!!!

P.S. Geeky Penguin -- don't forget to find out the names of your mom's friend here in Peachtree City and your aunt's married name! Maybe they could be Alum Initiates too???????

How exciting!! By the way, even though my pin is silver I really really like the two-tone ones, I think they're really different and pretty. I can't wait to hear how everything goes for you ladies!
