IMHO- I've read just about every post on Recs.
From what I've gathered-
The minimum
Big school with strong Greek system, 2
Smaller schools 1
In the North-varies depending on how competitive it is.
South-2 at least.
If they say some sororities will get you recs
if they really like you, that may be so. Do you REALLY want to risk that? Just to be safe, I would have a formal rec sent in and see if someone else can send a letter for you. PERFECT EXAMPLE-We were under the impression that DZ doesn't require recs.Welllll,there is a difference between requiring a rec and preferring a rec.
When there are 800+ girls going through rush,
you really need an introduction to the chapter. Give yourself the best chance. Yes, it does take a lot of effort, but that effort could make a difference.
