I'm sure I could say somebody LOOKED "homelyish" to mean sort of bland and laid back, without meaning that they ARE homely. (and looking bland and laid back is not a bad thing). I'd say that for someone who's probably nervous about feeling competitive, finding girls without makeup would be surprising--and I'm sure she was posting in relief that she could be more at ease with these other girls. I'm 100% confident that TBSG in no way meant to defame any of her potential sisters!
And about the ASA's at Truman--definitely *cute* with the red skirt and white shirt! It's a trademark I'd say
