I just have to throw in my two cents worth about something that has long annoyed me, and it might not even not pertain to this thread but what the heck, I am on a roll!

I can't stand when people ask "what is XYZ sorority like" when they are not talking about a specific chapter. On when people will say "Oh, I know a member of ABC sorority at so-and-so college so I know that ABC's are real snotty witches"

There is no way to generalize what a sorority is like! It's not like the groups of founders got together a hundred years ago and said "Yes, let's found a sorority for geeks" or "Let's found a sorority only for girls who have access to their daddy's credit cards" It just doesn't work that way!

I can think of two sororities at the university I attended that are very large nationally and, apparently, are ultra-elite in another part of the country. But they weren't that way at my school; one had 18-20 members and the other had 11.

So, I can't stress enough that there is NO WAY of knowing what house you want to join until you get to meet the sisters! Don't try to plan ahead, just wait until rush and let the ride begin!

Thanks everyone for letting me vent!
