2025/2026 New Chapters/Expansions/Charters/Closures

Sigma Sigma Sigma Theta Lambda chapter at University of Illinois-Springfiled has closed per their IG trisigmauis and they are not listed on the UIS FLS website.

Tri Sigma was the only NPC organization on campus. DKE fraternity closed a while back. I know our chapter size is at single digit here.

I went back through past expansion threads. In the '20/'21' thread, it was announced on Feb. 2, 2021 that Delta Delta Delta would be establishing at Georgia Southern in 2022. Literally a couple of weeks later, on Feb. 24, it was announced that the expansion was being postponed without giving a date for the future establishment. Don't know what happened since.

Covid and the campus DEI attitude are two issues I recall.

And I do not see, in GCs list of campus chapters, where two strong national sororities came on after Tri Delta dropped out.

They came in recent years--before DDD dropped out.

ETA--the campus does not have a bad DEI attitude. This is a prevalent assumption about Greeks on deep Southern campuses and it's definitely untrue, My son was Greek there and graduated 3 years ago. His fraternity, like most others, was very diverse. I really don't think that kids don't care anymore, thank God.

Sigma Alpha Epsilon - James Madisonn Univ charter is officially back

Pi Kappa Alpha - is returning to Ole Miss Fall 2026 and coming to Drexel Fall 2026

Sigma Delta Tau - re-chartered Epsilon chapter at Univ of Cincinnati (one photo showed a group of 20 happy young women, I assume is the inaugeral class.)

Tau Kappa Epsilon Chartered at Morehead State

Phi Kappa Psi Chartered at MIT

Alpha Delta Pi will be closing at the University of North Texas via an announcement from UNT Panhellenic.

It is a shame ADPI is closing at UNT , ADPI was one of the first sororities founded at what was then North Texas State Teachers College in 1953.
