The vast majority of time when this happens, basically the only time this happens, is when the GC web server is overloaded due to the number of automated bots that are accessing the site in some way.
That message just came up for me several times while I was on GC for a few minutes. Figured it's surely happening to other GCers from time to time and maybe I should explain what that message is about.
Anyhow, that's what it is, GC's web server being overloaded by bots.
Problems caused by massive numbers of bots on GC, like the issue described here, is why GreekChat will soon be switching over to being members-only / for GC accounts that are verified to not be bots.

The error message I quoted above, I think I may change that to be something a little more custom for GC and a bit more descriptive. But for now, the error message quoted above is what you'll see if GC is overloaded by traffic / bots.
