I’m reading “Buckeye” by Patrick Ryan. It has great advance praise by Tom Hanks and Ann Patchett. I actually bought it in Patchett’s bookstore—PARNASSUS—in Nashville. If you get the chance—Go! Wonderful atmosphere, so many titles, great kids’ section. Patchett herself is often there. And she has visits from many Vandy lecturers.
I’m about 30% in—the book follows the lives of two families in Buckeye, OH, as they live their lives facing the societal and emotional challenges from WW-2 through Vietnam. GREAT sympathetic characters, lots of interactions among the citizens of Buckeye.
So far I’m really caught up in their lives. It’s a READ WITH JENNA recommended title.
