Okay I actually really liked this episode. I especially loved the girl from South Carolina, I’m so happy she was able to find her home!

Rebumping. I am enjoying this much more than should, it's a much better look at rush, emotions at all.
Also I've notice a lot of PNMs will post after rush and just combine their outfits into 1 video and show where they got a bid from.

I didn't watch any of it, but what happened to the girls with the hicky mothers?

Everyone who has appeared on the show except Morgan has gotten a bid. Even one girl who didn’t formally rush yet was able to get a snap bid.

By the looks of it yes. I was especially happy with the girls who didn't get legacy houses but forged their own paths and found their homes.

I'll be darned, the show keeps not being garbage. The girls are sweet with great attitudes and the coaches are reining in the helicopter moms. Both of this week's Ole Miss PNMs are now sophomores in their respective houses (no spoilers!) and seem very happy.

I will admit I was not going to watch this show because I figured it was going to sort of show the worst of the process. Now I will profess, I didn't go through recruitment at a SEC school, but all of the PNMs they have featured have impressed me, it shows a very honest look about the ups and downs, the young women while some may have encountered cuts and sadness around those cuts, its prep for rejections that life will bring. And the students featured have really shown a lot of maturity in how they have picked themselves up and moved forward. Some of the moms in the episodes were a bit much...but I do like how the coach(es) keep the moms that need it reigned in.

Just saw an ad for “The Secrets of Sorority Rush”. Streaming on Hulu and Disney+.
I don’t have either of these streaming services but would be interested in hearing a review.

I have been pleasantly surprised at how much I've enjoyed it. I had a feeling about the Gamma Phi result! Something early on made me think she'd go Gamma Phi Beta.

Why is it that Bama is the quintessential “most competitive” recruitment, when they allegedly matched 93% of the PNMs who attended round 1 in 2024?
From the eligibility page of the University of Alabama Panhellenic website:
“For Fall 2024, 2,521 women registered for primary recruitment and 2,496 women participated in the first round of recruitment known as Open House. Of the 2,496 women in the Open House Pool, 172 women did not complete the process, of which 144 withdrew, 31 were released and 11 participated in bid matching, but did NOT maximize their options and did not receive a bid. For Fall 2024, 2,324 women received bids Open House Pool Match rate of 93%. The national average for women receiving a bid during primary recruitment is 78% of the Open House Pool.”
If people regard Alabama as uber competitive because there’s emphasis on getting a bid from the “right” chapters, the numbers don’t really tell that story, because only ~6% of the PNM pool are taking themselves out of the process by either withdrawing or unsuccessfully SIPing. Unless PNMs are being heavily discouraged from SIP and just opt not to run if they don’t like their match?

I'm told that many do not run.

I watched the hulu documentary and it was actually pretty good too. They gave the girls vlog cameras and luckily said do not film in the houses, and it did touch on how more northern girls are going south for college and have to learn about how different southern rush is.
They followed several girls at the University of Oklahoma. Also the balloon designer is a Tri Delta!!
