While on her page, I found out that someone at Bama had allegedly let the cat out of the bag that she had a poor GPA of 2.7, which played a major role in her rush results. Since that information was now public, she posted a defensive video confirming her GPA was 2.7 and tried to justify her Cs and Bs. She even made a snarky comment that the sororities "threw her GPA in her face". Really?? A 2.7 GPA doesn't cut it at Bama....or even most schools.

That's one of the things that seems to get missed when people are watching these big SEC rushes. The girls for sure are wearing expensive, designer stuff, have high social media influence, pageant queens, they prepped all year, etc etc etc......but they *also* have to have academic achievement. Even with all the glam, you still need to have scholarship.

And, yes, I faintly recall that she had received a bid from SK, but turned it down. She also claims that she received "bids" from Sigma Delta Tau and Alpha Delta Chi (Christian sorority), but those were just invitations to attend COB, not "bids". (good grief)
I had also heard she was a transfer (and again nothing wrong with that, I joined as a transfer) but her GPA in that sense was much lower than chapter set GPA. And considering it's Bama, I know the GPA to join many houses was much higher than national standard.

Edited to add: 2.7??? We didn't give a second thought to a woman with less that a 3.25!
Also, I don't think the broader public knows how much it takes to rush at these massive schools. You don't just need "beauty" (again hog wash) you need to treat it like an actual college transcript. You need the really good GPA AND you need the involvement wherever that falls, whether it be the AP king or the cheer captain.

Sorry to rant, as someone who witnessed her first rush on the volunteer, end it's so much more than just looking cute or gaining some social media followers.

I will never forget when someone on GC said a PNM with a low GPA needed to pledge the library! I think it’s fitting here.

There was a girl who was mad they wouldn’t let her contract into ROTC because her GPA was a 1.9! Seriously!!!! You really do not need to be adding ANYTHING into your schedule if your grades are that low!
