LOL! That pic was obviously taken by a professional photographer with a studio set-up, and THAT is what the guy chose to wear?
CG, thanks for the liver info...I will definitely let you know what Pip's vet does. He"s been fine since his bug ...eating, energetic, etc.

The Stanley Cup finals have turned into a combination hockey-boxing sport. Seriously, there have been so many fights! In the latest one, the refs just gave up with 4 fights going on simultaneously, and the announcers started calling the punches like it was a boxing match, lol.

Sometimes you just gotta let the boys punch it out of themselves.

Yes it does, it makes complete sense. So, it’s kind of like living in, like a blind spot? Like, you can’t live in your own blind spots, but your spouse does. That’s the point I was making. And that’s what those couples in the documentary couldn’t see. They just kept analyzing each other, and not themselves. So, it’s not really about imagining being married to yourself, it’s like recognizing the emotional environment you create. If that makes sense.
Those couples were a mess, lol.

You’re very welcome. I’m so glad he’s eating and being himself. Thank you for keeping me posted.

Now it makes sense. I never looked at it from that perspective. How’d you figure that one out? You’ve been married for a minute so I guess it comes from experience. When I was with my ex, the one I told y’all who moved in with me, I know damn well she wouldn’t understand that even if she read your post a million times. She was lit.

So, looking back on my first pregnancy, I realized just how hard it was, not just on me, but like on my husband too. I was hormonal, tired, uncomfortable, and honestly, not always the easiest person to be around. I’d get emotional over small things, lose my temper too fast, and even though I knew it wasn’t fair, sometimes I just couldn’t help it?
My husband isn’t the type to argue or guilt trip. He’s pretty reserved, and during that time, he stayed like, steady, not perfect, but steady. And I could tell it took effort for him to be that way, and I appreciated that more than I probably said out loud.
And then, what stood out to me was that he didn’t make me feel worse when I was already struggling. He didn’t try to fix everything or lecture me, he just stayed calm, listened, and gave me space when I needed it. It wasn’t always graceful, but it was consistent.
And then, at some point, I realized he was like, quietly carrying the weight of both of us in a way I hadn’t noticed before. While I was like totally caught up in the chaos of how I felt, he was focused on keeping things stable and together. And that hit me really hard, because that’s when I saw what emotional safety actually looked like. No over the top stuff or constant reassurance, just someone who chooses to stay grounded when it matters most. Know what I mean?
That’s when I started to really think about what it feels like to be married to me, especially when I’m not at my best. If that makes sense.

So, I suggested that we use like a code that people have to punch in order to use it. And then, she was like it’d be too expensive. I didn’t say anything, but I was not for doing the key thing. I didn’t know she knew me as well as she does. And I didn’t know my coworkers know me as well as they do. Long story short, whenever a client uses bathroom, which isn’t often, when they get done, they leave the key on the counter. So like, no one would put it back on the hook. They just left it out for me to do it just so they could watch me and laugh. So, they all had bets that I would use gloves to hang it back on the hook or use Kleenex or something. Well, I used Kleenex to pick it up. They all started laughing when I did. I’m like… ok, what’s the joke?
They can laugh at me, I don’t care. I am NOT touching that key. Ew!

WIFLSRN: The end of my day at work just now was so much fun, lol. My coworkers didn’t know I could dance. I’m like, seriously? And then I’m like, yes, I know how to dance. I don’t know how they didn’t know this about me. Just in our random conversations on seldom slower days, I told them I cheered and I was also on the dance team, so how they didn’t know…. Maybe they thought I forgot. Well, they didn’t believe me so I took my lab coat off, put on a song from one of my playlists, and I showed them. They were like “Wow!” Then they tried it. Hilarious!
One of our patients was literally looking at me like…..
lol

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. What you just described? That’s what real love looks like. Not the fireworks, it’s the foundation.
And honestly, props to your hubby for holding it down without making it about him. That’s strength most people don’t even notice unless they’ve had to do it. Emotional safety ain’t loud. It’s consistent. It’s choosing calm when everything in you wants to react. That’s rare.
But I also respect you for looking back and owning your part. A lot of people don’t do that. Chicks especially. They bounce before owning up. The fact that you see him now, even retroactively, that matters. That kind of awareness? That’s how you grow closer, for real.
Y’all are a solid couple, no doubt. It ain’t about being perfect. It’s about being accountable to each other when life ain’t pretty. I respect that heavy. Thanks for sharing that, CG. Now, I get what you meant by that.

I can’t speak for other women and why they act on the decisions they make. I mean, some have good reason to leave if they married a jerk, lol. I’m very lucky though. When I met him, something in me just clicked. I fell hard and fast… and it felt so safe to. It’s like, how I am, I don’t halfway love, I go all in.. heart, mind, soul, the whole thing. And I’m so glad I did with him.

Yep. I think he’s sending the Marines in to stop the protests, if he hasn’t already. I hate him. I’m so sick of watching evil people win. They lie, manipulate, hurt others, and somehow they get rewarded for it. And yeah, I know God sees everything, but sometimes I wish He’d move faster? Because good people are drowning while cowards keep getting crowns. Pisses me off!

LOL! Some of us on here know why. You remember Jeremy’s cold ass breadsticks? And how he left that Yelp review like, “Pizza dude had no expression. Looked like he just saw the meaning of life in the cheese”? That’s what your hubby did to you. Turned you out. Had you out here looking emotionally sautéed. “I fell hard and fast and it felt safe”. Girl please. He hit that spiritual nerve so good you started quoting scripture and aromatherapy oils. Dude didn’t just take your heart, he reset your entire factory settings.
When he saw you, and you saw him, he didn’t just move in for the kill, he walked into your emotional control panel, hit “select all,” and reprogrammed who you were/are as a woman. That’s beyond “turned out”, that’s transcendent upgrade.
“I fell hard and fast and it felt safe”. Yeah, okay, CG. Up in here trying to sound soft and poetic LOL!
