Yep. I call it a glass box, lol.
No, what I’m saying is we’ve normalized absurdity. Like, Twilight Zone stuff is happening, and people’s reaction is, “Hmm. Wonder what’s for dinner.” That kind of thing. It’s so irritating to me.
Honestly? If you stop noticing how broken things are, you start accepting broken as the default. That’s where we are today as a society.
I know it’s comforting to believe things will get better, but truthfully, they’re going to get worse. I’m honestly not trying to be negative, it’s just that I see it as kind of like pattern recognition?
What I’m saying is history doesn’t move in a straight line. It seems to spiral. And every time people ignore the warning signs, they repeat them.
Thank you so much Dee and Phrozen for the birthday wishes.

History does spiral. But there are a lot of really angry people and some really smart ones who are speaking out. My kids and I were just chatting on a conference call (it's the coolest to have adult kids who are intelligent and great to talk to) and they think the guy who was wrongly sent to El Salvador will be the turning point. Most experts say he was probably killed within 24 hours of arriving there so they cannot send him back but they dare not admit this to the public. The truth will come out though. It always does.

WIFLSRN: OMG, I swear, this morning started off like…. CG seriously wants to go home morning. Either that or quit my job and find a new line of work. New client: Trump supporter. “Patriot”. Asshole. And his puppy’s name? “MAGA”.
Okay…. So….. He dropped MAGA off this morning (Labrador Mix) six months old, scheduled for a neuter. Nothing unusual, until I saw the name on the intake form. All caps. MAGA. Not Max, not Buddy. MAGA. Oh, how endearing.
The collar matched. Burgundy nylon, bold white letters like it came straight off a bargain rack at a political rally. He told our manager sitting at the front desk that it stood for “Making Animals Great Again.” I was standing behind her looking at her computer, hearing this, but I said nothing. So, I’m clearly very annoyed at this, but I kept doing my job.
Long story short, surgery went fine. No complications. The puppy was sweet, gentle, and, frankly, better behaved than his owner.
His owner came back around 1:30 to pick him up. And that’s when the shift turned.
He was obviously intoxicated. I swear, he smelled like liquor and Axe body spray. His eyes were half-lidded, and he tried to fist bump me.
He looked at his dog, still groggy in the recovery cage, and then he goes, “That’s my boy. Still got that bark of liberty?” You know what? I SO wish I was kidding. But I’m not.
Oh, and then he goes… “The freedom funnel.” (referring to his puppy’s E-collar)
So, I’m explaining the meds to him, all while trying to keep my eyes from watering from the alcohol coming through his pores. Then he asked me if the pain meds could be flavored like beef jerky. For himself. I ignored his attempted “humor”.
I walked him through the discharge instructions three times. He nodded, then asked me if we offered “testicle preservation services.” My tech left the room. Me? I was SO annoyed.
The dog was a gem. The owner… not so much.
See what I mean? That’s how they are. Total, pompous, ignorant assholes!

I think that’s awesome being able to have those kinds of deep conversations with your kids, Dee. Honestly, that kind of bond is something most people dream of, and it’s rare.
And I really do hope they’re right. I hope this case becomes a turning point. You’re right, there are smart, passionate people speaking out, and they matter. They’re often the ones holding the line when everything else starts to slip.
But I’ve learned that the truth doesn’t always surface on its own. Sometimes it gets hidden, or twisted, or drowned out by noise. History is full of truths that never saw daylight, not because they weren’t important, but because people gave up looking, or stopped listening.

Yep. And then they just nodded. Did you see that? I’m like… “Say something. Correct her!” That’s the problem, no one says anything to these people.
If I had been there when she said “A1”, I would’ve corrected her right there, on stage, under full lighting.
I’d have smiled, just enough to be polite, and said
“Just to clarify, A1 is steak sauce. AI is artificial intelligence. One goes on a meatloaf, steak, etc. the other is designed to replace people who can’t spell. And how do you not know how to spell AI? Two letters. Two. And somehow, you still managed to mispronounce them, you dumb ass.”
And for the record? Meatloaf is disgusting.
But still more intelligent, better structured, and frankly more useful than the Secretary of Education in that moment. I am so sick of Trumpers I could scream!

I don’t trust food that looks like it’s already been chewed once. I mean, it’s a loaf….. Of meat. Ew. And it smells like someone reheated expired leftovers inside a garbage truck.

Noticed my local library has an APRIL IS MATH AWARENESS MONTH book table set-up.
Mind immediatly thought how math in the Trump administration is so bad my brain hears the old Barbie "marh class is hard!" statement when viewing Trump and his minions speak of numbers/alleged DOGE monetary efficiencies.

I swear, RFK Jr. talks like he’s trying to win a conspiracy theory talent show. He gives off a “I skimmed a science book once and now I’m qualified to ruin Thanksgiving.” He’s such a moron.
With autism, hmm… I’m not sure if it’s genetic with humans or not. I do know with my patients, we’re seeing like certain behavioral patterns in some animals that make us think there could be a genetic component involved. So like, we might see littermates who both exhibit unusually repetitive behaviors, like excessive licking or a strong fixation on specific objects, more often than we'd expect in the general population. I also know that genetics plays a big role in how an animal's brain develops and how their senses work. So, if there are genetic variations that affect these areas, it could potentially lead to differences in how an animal processes information and interacts with its environment.
I mean, we don't have specific diagnostic categories like we do for some other conditions, it’s just that the patterns I’ve seen across related animals suggest that there's likely an inherited tendency towards these types of behaviors. It's something we as vets keep in mind when we're evaluating an animal's overall health and behavior, and it can sometimes help us understand why certain animals behave the way they do.
I’m not sure if that’s the case with humans but animals are used to study humans in various fields of research.

I totally said it backwards. He's saying autism is caused by environmental elements, etc. and there are clear genetic links. He makes it sound like kids go through something at age 2 that causes it, but that's just when it becomes obvious because of other developmental milestones. But also, very few are what he's describing- unable to work, unable to get married and pay taxes? Some of the brightest and best are on the spectrum. Temple Grandin among the most famous. He has no education in anything medical. How is this RFK's son? How is the family dealing with this? They need to cut him out of the family money coffers.
