😂 Why are you so pressed, my man? She didn’t use your money. Chill, dude. Your $10 Amazon budget is still safe.

I’ve been getting notifications left and right ICE all over the place nabbing up illegals. Damn shame. I wonder why people who are clearly racist don’t like being called or referred to as a racist? Folks who voted for Trump are clearly bigots, but if you tell them they are, they’ll deny it. Racists always start off a racial slur with “I’m not a racist but…” and they just told on themselves right there Lol.

Yep. I actually find it to be so stupid that it’s hilarious how people can hold such blatantly bigoted views, and yet get so defensive when they’re called out on it. I think a lot of it points to their self-image. Like, most people want to see themselves as “good”, so when they’re labeled a bigot, that would feel like a personal attack to them, rather than a reflection of their behavior. Know what I mean?
And yes, the moment someone starts off with “I’m not racist, but…” you know they’re getting ready to drop something wildly offensive. It’s kind of like they’re handing you a warning label before the fireworks. And honestly? — it’s not subconscious. I mean, at least I don’t think it is. These people know exactly what they’re doing. That little disclaimer is their way of saying, “I want to say something racist, but I don’t want you to think I’m racist for saying it.” It’s honestly almost impressive, the mental gymnastics involved, lol.
As for ICE, that’s just a clear example of how systems can reflect and enforce prejudice under the cover of “law and order”. It’s amazing how much denial there is about the connection between policies like that and the deeper biases they come from. I just think the real shame is how many people are willing to look the other way because it doesn’t affect them directly.

^^^It won't affect them directly until immigrants aren't available to pick crops in American Fields, thus food doesn't get to stores and the unpicked American crop goes to seed in the field, thus food shortages occur raising prices, thus stores order food from other countries instead, thus Trump Tariffs on those foreign foods cause even higher food prices, but Trump doesn't mind it because The States can care for their own people with money for food and force farmers to pick their own fields and give food away for free to their starving residents. Or some such convolution of a Trump-induced situation.

That’s an interesting take on the economic ripple effects tied to immigration policy, and I can see where you’re coming from. However, it feels like it veers away from what CG was addressing. I think her point was less about the economic implications and more about how individuals consciously dodge accountability for their prejudices.
For example, when someone starts with, “I’m not racist, but,….” they’re clearly aware of how their comment will come across. That little disclaimer isn’t accidental, it’s actually an intentional way to deflect criticism while still saying something offensive. I think CG is fascinated by how silly it is, because it shows they understand the social consequences of being labeled racist, but instead of addressing the root of their bias, they try to mask it.
As for immigration, you’re right that it plays a massive role in industries like agriculture. To my knowledge, immigrants make up the majority of the workforce in U.S. fields, ensuring food gets to stores. But even that highlights a deeper irony. The same people who support policies targeting immigrants often benefit from their labor without realizing it. It’s just another layer of hypocrisy in a much bigger picture, to me.

That’s how I read CG’s reply. The last paragraph of your post, PB, is the ignorance that really blows my mind.

Yep, that’s exactly what I was saying. I mean, it’s like you’re inside my head… or maybe just a little obsessed with me. Not that I’m complaining.
