DG pin sells for $1,294.99 ????!!!!!!!

			DG Pin on ebay
Delta Gamma pin that just sold foor $1,294.99 on ebay. It's not a founder's badge or anything of the sort. What the heck? Now i love my GLO and all, but WOW! Instead of spending all that money on one pin... maybe donate some of it to their chapter or national org, where it could probably be put to good use. Well, for all we know it's not even a DG buying it.

I thought i'd seen it all!

The current theory is that the two bidders in the final hours are both relatively inexperienced and were just bidding against each other in order to win the badge. The badge is probably no more than 60-65 years old based on the 'make'.

Are we sure it was just HQ buying it. I know Kappa Alpha Theta HQ tries to get all the important stuff off ebay such as our pins since we don't want them given to everyone.

it could be someone teaching the seller a lesson. I know back in the mid 90s, Phish fan used to drive up the price of cds that contain shows that could be obtain from trading. I've done it couple time under an assume name, esp. those selling phish shows.

you don't give them the money. You raised the price so high that nobody will buy it. They they are stuck with that items. Hence the assume identity. I've done it to many bootleg sellers. Pissed me off. I then usually write to the buyers telling them that they can get them for free by sending somebody a blank cd and postages.

Just to warn you, you can get into legal trouble for doing that. I don't have the time to get into all of it now, but it's definately illegal. You're not totally anonymous on ebay. Once you win an transaction, the seller is able to get access to your home address and phone number.
Also not a lot of these sellers are doing it to be mean-spirited, etc. Some of them are people that really don't know any better. It's not really fair to be totally up their butts about it there are some professionals on there, but a lot of them are just casual sellers who find things at garage sale.

			This is inssanity!

I have seen selected Badges go for Large amounts! If you have the money and it is a special Badge then maybe it is worth it!

I bought a TKN Badge for 468.00! Why, as they mergered with LXA in 1939 and do not make them any more! It is going to my Chapter!

It is a damn special Badge- 6 pearls, 1 diamond and AA guard in pearls! 1 sth Badge of an Ala. Chapter!

But yes, some of the prices are silly! I have seen a KKG and KA badge go for mucho bucks!

I go an LXA Alpha Badge and finally contacted soem one from that Chapter and wanted to know if I would donate it! Da, I would sell at what I paid for it! Oops never heard back!

Sold it to another Brother Who collects and was way under what our International wanted for it!

Diamonds and Emeralds with pearl A guard! It was neat!

I think all this fuss over pins on ebay is ridiculous. This doesn't mean I don't respect pins and what they stand for but so many suffering people and organizations could be helped with that money. Buying pins on ebay only benefits the seller.
In my opinion the ideals of my sorority reflect the belief that people are more important than things.
