I understand all the reasons, but I hate that I don’t get to go to IEP meetings for my students, especially my blind student. I’m with him 5 of the 7 hours of our day. I’m in charge of implementing everything with him, I’m the one that trains him for his work based learning internship, I’m his job coach, I teach his career prep and life skills, etc. I see all of his struggles and wins up close and personal, and I hear/witness every fear that stands between him and independence. I’m am their best source of information and have the clearest picture of what he can actually do.
