San Diego State University voted "In favor" to open for extension with a new chapter to be established in Fall of 2024 at the earliest. See SDSU CPA 5/1/23 meeting minutes below.

Interesting. DZ recently closed but I guess numbers are up so much that they need another house. There are quite a few houses that could recolonize besides DZ. (info from the shadokat thread)

Chi Omega
Alpha Delta Pi
Sigma Kappa
Alpha Xi Delta
Alpha Epsilon Phi
Alpha Sigma Alpha

You might want to review the closure dates for the SDSU chapters. I don’t consider 1995 to be recent. Also, good correction on AEPhi (you initially wrote Pi), you’re not the first person to mix them up and you won’t be the last.

Carry on.

I think there's confusion here and I'm not sure where the 1995 date is coming from. Delta Zeta closed in December 2022, which is very much "recent". Additionally, AEPhi closed in 2014, Sigma Kappa in 2007, and ADPi in 2005.

I think what AZTheta meant was 1990 was the last time a new chapter colonized from scratch (and wasn't recolonized), so it certainly has been a long time since a new chapter joined. (from shadokat's thread)

Alpha Sigma Alpha Omega Omega 1932-1939
Alpha Xi Delta Gamma Alpha 1949-1997
Alpha Phi Gamma Alpha 1948
Alpha Gamma Delta Delta Eta 1949-1991/2014
Gamma Phi Beta Beta Lambda 1949
Kappa Delta Beta Rho 1949
Pi Beta Phi California Epsilon 1949
Alpha Chi Omega Gamma Nu 1950
Delta Zeta Gamma Omicron 1950-1973/1989-1995/2007-2022
Sigma Kappa Beta Psi 1950-1979/1981-2007
Chi Omega Gamma Delta 1950-1995
Kappa Alpha Theta Gamma Sigma 1951-2011/2016
Alpha Epsilon Phi Epsilon Nu 1964-1971/2006-2014
Delta Gamma Epsilon Sigma 1984
Alpha Delta Pi Eta Sigma 1990-2005

But also, there have been several time chapters have recolonized. We'll certainly see what SDSU decides to do.

Tri Sigma is closing their chapter at the University of Missouri. The chapter will continue to operate through the Fall 2023 term but will not recruit new members.

Yikes, first UNLV now Mizzou. I feel like we never hear about these (as an alumna of the organization) and I wonder what is going on. I hope we see some expansion at some point and slow down these closures.

I was really curious about what was going on, since KD is using the Tri Sigma house right now and that they were very quiet during recruitment.

I just came back from our Founders Day lunch. The President of our Gamma Phi Beta chapter at SDSU shared that the chapter picked up some 160 new members at fall recruitment and that total is over 300. (Don't quote me, I didn't quite catch the exact numbers.)

She added that, due to the huge new member class sizes, Panhellenic is currently looking to add either Chi Omega or Tri Delta or both.

Eight NPC chapters seems too few for this campus with those types of numbers. Chi Omega was there until 1995 but it seems that this would be first time that a Tri Delta chapter was on campus. UC San Diego would be the closest university that has both chapters.
