Lox is strips of brined salmon, sometimes smoked. It is usually served on a bagel with cream cheese. Too often, it is too greasy to serve without cream cheese. Sometimes, tomatoes, onions, capers and/or cucumbers are also included on the sandwich.
If I were on death row, my last meal would be lox on either a pumpernickel bagel or an everything bagel or an onion bagel with Philadelphia brand cream cheese.
