The Mackinac bridge connects the upper and lower peninsulas of Michigan. Ferry or plane is the only way to get to Mackinac Island and there are no cars allowed on the Island. That bridge is very high and 5 miles long and I had to drive it once myself when it was raining. I always stay on the inside lane if I have to drive it. They do have a service you can pay to drive your ca r for you if you can't bring yourself to drive it. It closes if winds are too high.
