When I was like 5 or 6, then, the song was considered like really old. But I would sing with my mom while she played it. She loved that song and I used to say to her… “Play it again mom!” At that young of an age, I just assumed it was about coming home from work for lunch and eating a sandwich or something to satisfy your hunger. Plus, I remember my dad would come home from work in the afternoon for lunch sometimes and then go back to work, so I thought that’s what it was about. I still think about food when I hear the song, but I clearly know what it’s about now. I mean, it’s more than obvious.
