You mean this is the first time you will be rushing girls? My best advice to you is just to remember what it was like when you were on the other side of rush, and what you liked & didn't like about it. It is definitely hard to have a meaningful conversation with a girl you just met! I guess all I can say is just try to get a feel for what the girl is like...does she seem really outgoing? Athletic? Studious? Then shift the conversation towards what she seems to be into. Also, I know some of the best rush conversations I've had were about the most random things...sushi, skydiving, even that old TV show "The Golden Girls" (I know you remember that show ) Anyway, good luck rushing & have a great time!!

So there is one thing you should remember, everyone gets nervous on both sides. But you have an advantage, you are already a member. Yes these new women are judging your sorority by you but I am sure your sisters would not have asked you to join their sisterhood if they were not proud of you and were sure you would represent them well. These women are afraid of rejection and you are too. It makes it hard, but in the end you don't have to be afraid come bid day you won't have a place to call home, so give the women going through a break when they struggle for conversation, it is so hard. That is what I try to remember for every party and every woman I meet.

Last year was my first year recruiting girls and I was sooooo nervous, but excited too. One thing that I did, which helped, was that I had a "silly question of the day" in mind (i.e. - what tv show reruns do you like to watch). This was a great conversation starter and it helps to get the convo flowing into their interests and things you may have in common.

Hope that helps! Good Luck!

uhchio, I'm with you on the first rush on the other side. I'm excited and nervous. But what I'm looking forward to is meeting and getting to know my new little sister!
