Midwest - state college- 1983-1987 and our dues were $20 a month. I remember a huge ruckus when they tried to raise them to $25 and people didn't know how they would possibly pay that much so we compromised on $22 or $23 instead. Tuition was $45 a credit hour with 15 credit hours being an average load for about $1350 a year(for context). Minimum wage was $3.15.
My daughter went to Barnard from 2012-2016 and her sorority dues were $320 per semester which comes to $80 a month. Tuition was $45,000 a year. Minimum wages was $7.40, I think. Might have been higher in NYC.
