Greetings from WI

Hello all:

My daughter is a HS junior with plans to attend an SEC school in 2021. She's seriously considering Auburn and Ole Miss, leaning toward OM. I've been educating myself (i.e. lurking on this site) about recruitment and sorority life since I was not in a sorority.

Thank you in advance for sharing your vast knowledge. If my daughter decides to rush (and she's pretty confident she will), I know this site will continue to be a great resource for advice and information.

Regards,
WI_Mama

Welcome. Have you and your daughter had a chance to visit the campuses yet?

Yes, we visited this past summer. She liked both! We also visited UGA and Alabama - both amazing, but she felt they were too big for her. We visited Baylor two years ago, and she loved that as well. We are planning to return to Ole Miss and Auburn in the spring to meet with faculty in her area of interest, and she can hopefully confirm her preference.

Best of luck to her! FYI in case you are in the Milwaukee area, the Milwaukee area, the Milwaukee Alumnae Panhellenic hosts a Reference Event every spring. I think it's scheduled for late May 2020? If you like I'd be happy to get the date for you.

Would really appreciate the information! Should she attend a reference event in May 2020, or wait until closer to graduation in 2021?

Most of these events are restricted to Seniors as that's when they'll be going thru recruitment. But you should check their web site to be sure. Here in Birmingham it's seniors only.
