Sigma Kappa wedding traditions?

I have been wandering into other GLO forums and saw many great threads about GLO wedding traditions. I am not getting married any time soon, but I'm a girl and I've been planning my wedding since I was 6! Did anyone incorporate anything into thier ceremony? Or anyone planning to?

Talking

I've heard of incorporating pearls, violets, or maroon & lavender into the wedding.

my mom (a sig kap) did some candle thing at her wedding to my daddy. there are pictures of her and her sisters (real and sorority) passing a candle. i'll have to ask her what it was about.

Was it a sister circle?

I love the idea of putting pins on the bouquet!! I haven't been able to attend the few weddings of my sisters that are married so far. But I heard those who attended circled around the bride and sang to her.

Smile ring

during our prefs round here at UF we give the girls rings made of pearls (not real..it's elastic stringed with small pearl beads to wear during prefs..then put on the table during the ceremony).. and our tradition is you wear the ring 3 times in your life 1. during prefs 2. during initiation and 3. when you get married. I heard that this is a national SK tradition but not all chapters do it. Sisters from Beta Tau here at UF have worn them on their hands when they were married, had them sewn into their veils.. and this June one of my sisters is getting married, and she can't wear it on her finger due to this jewish tradition, so she's having it sewn into her dress. This is a very special tradition

wedding traditions

well, i'm pretty sure sigkaps don't have any traditions, but that doesn't mean you can't make up your own. like using our colors in the wedding, wearing your badge under your gown(like on your slip strap or something). you get the point. that's some of what i'm thinking about doing.

*Bump* Another great thread!!

A gamma eta sister recently got married (2 weeks ago, I think?), but I wasn't able to attend the wedding - - I'm sure SKRae could give you details.

Anyhow, I'm not planning on getting married any time soon (that would require NOT being single ), but was wondering if anyone had any new SK Wedding tidbits to share??

One of my sisters from Alpha Gamma is getting married this summer (on the 4th of July! She'll get fireworks every year to celebrate!) We usually do a Candle pasing and sing Pass It On. Does anyone else do this?

no, i've never heard of it done, but i'm thinking it would be fun at my wedding. not like i'm getting married in the near future either. that would require a bf who likes me. long story ladies, i might post it in the "am i going too fast thread later".
